RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve the Plans and Specifications for the Natividad Medical Center, Project #9600-54 Radiology Modernization, Bid #NMC-1013 for contractors to bid on construction; and
b. Authorize Natividad Medical Center to advertise the "Notice to Contractors" in a newspaper of general circulation.
SUMMARY/ DISCUSSION:
Natividad Medical Center is seeking a Board of Supervisors' approval of the Construction Documents (Plans and Specifications) authorizing advertising for bids in a newspaper of general circulation.
Natividad Medical Center is in the construction phase of modernizing the Radiology Department on the first floor of Building 500. The Radiology Department will be adding two new Computerized Tomography (CT) scanners, a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) as well as creating an Angiography hybrid suite for Interventional Radiology (IR).
On September 30, 2014 the Board of Supervisors approved the agreement (A-12753) with RBB Architects to provide construction documents and specifications for the Radiology Modernization project per RFQ #9600-54 at Natividad Medical Center. RBB submitted the construction documents to the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) on May 15, 2015 and received approval on May 12, 2017.
The bids will be opened and publicly read aloud by the Contracts/Purchasing Agent in the Clerk of the Board's Conference Room 1032, Monterey County Government Center, 168 West Alisal Street 1st Floor, Salinas, California 93901.
