RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Board of Directors:
Approve Amendment No. 2 to the Professional Services Agreement with Salinas Pump Company, in the amount of $300,000 to provide well and pump maintenance, repair services and well logging services for the Castroville Seawater Intrusion Project (CSIP) through June 30, 2020; and authorize the General Manager to execute Amendment No.2.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On August 24, 2015, the Board of Directors approved a three-year Professional Services Agreement with Salinas Pump Company in the amount of $156,000 to provide maintenance, repair and well logging services for the CSIP supplemental wells and pumps on an as-needed basis.
On December 6, 2016, the Board of Directors approved Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement with Salinas Pump Company in the amount of $150,000 to provide maintenance, repair and well logging services for the CSIP supplemental wells and pumps on an as-needed basis, and to extend the Agreement term to June 30, 2020.
Amendment No. 2 will provide funds to complete underway repairs on CSIP supplemental well 02A02, and to complete additional rehabilitation and maintenance work on other CSIP supplemental wells. The estimated cost to complete the repairs on CSIP supplemental well 02A02 is approximately $25,000. The current available balance in the Salinas Pump Company contract is approximately $49,500.
