RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Health and Human Services Committee of the Board of Supervisors:
Receive an oral report on the Behavioral Health Bureau’s implementation of the “No Zip Code Left Behind” Proposition 47 Board of State and Community Corrections grant project.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Health Department’s Behavioral Health Bureau is partnering with the Public Defender's Office, Motivating Individual Leadership for Public Advancement (MILPA), Turning Point, California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA) and Sun Street Centers to implement the “No Zip Code Left Behind” collaborative project. This project is made possible by a $6 million Proposition 47 grant award by the Board of State and Community Corrections. The Behavioral Health Director will present the attached report that provides an update on implementation of the project.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Public Defender’s Office, MILPA, Turning Point, CRLA and Sun Street Centers are the primary collaborative partners involved in the implementation of this grant project. The Mayor of King City is also extremely supportive of the project.
FINANCING:
Receiving this report will have no impact on the Health Department Behavioral Health Bureau’s FY 2017-18 Adopted Budget nor to the General Fund.
