Title
Adopt one resolution authorizing the County Counsel to send notices to contractors providing services relating to or supporting the Risk Management functions of the County that notices from the contractors relating to contract matters be sent to the County Counsel or his designee, and that County Counsel or his designee is responsible for the management of the contracts.

Report
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Board of Supervisors adopt one resolution authorizing the County Counsel to send notices to contractors providing services relating to or supporting the Risk Management functions of the County that notices from the contractors relating to contract matters be sent to the County Counsel or his designee, and that County Counsel or his designee is responsible for the management of the contracts.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Various contracts relating to or supporting the Risk Management functions of the County, which functions are currently administered within the County Counsel's Office, provide for the person or office who is to receive notice from the contractor regarding contract matters. It is more appropriate for such notices to be provided to County Counsel or his designee in that the contracts relate to functions within that department, and the contractors should be notified that County Counsel or his designee is responsible for their management.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The CAO concurs in the recommendation.

FINANCING:
There is no cost to the General Fund; any cost associated with sending the notices to the contractors will be absorbed in the County Counsel's Office current year budget.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:
Adoption of this resolution will allow the County to operate more efficiently, and be more responsi...
