RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Continue the Public Hearing to March 13, 2018 on the appeal filed by General Farm Investment (Chris Bunn) of the denial by the Monterey County Department of Health of General Farm Investment's application for a Water Well Construction Permit (#17-12916) to allow sufficient time for staff to complete a resolution with findings and evidence for approval.

SUMMARY:
On February 13, 2018, the Monterey County Board of Supervisors conducted a public hearing on an appeal filed by General Farm Investment of a denial of an application for a Water Well Construction Permit (#17-12916). At the conclusion of this hearing, the Board of Supervisors adopted a motion of intent to grant the appeal and approve the well permit and continued the Public Hearing to February 27, 2017 to allow for staff to return with a resolution for approval and recommended conditions of approval.

The Water Resources Agency provided the Monterey County Department of Health with recommendations for specific conditions on February 21, 2018, so staff has not had sufficient time prior to the agenda deadline to prepare a resolution with the findings and evidence for approval to submit to the Board of Supervisors for their consideration on February 27, 2018. Therefore, a continuance of the public hearing to March 13, 2018 is requested.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel concurs with this request.
