RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Board of Supervisors:

a. Approve a Professional Services Agreement with Martin Feeney, Consultant Hydrogeologist, in the amount of $62,300, to develop an Integrated Coastal Monitoring and Reporting Plan to meet the terms of the Settlement Agreement and Mutual Release between California American Water Company, the Monterey County Water Resources Agency, and the County of Monterey, execution date December 4th, 2012; and
b. Authorize the General Manager to execute the Agreement.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Per the Settlement Agreement, the Water Resources Agency is to develop a groundwater level and groundwater quality monitoring plan to evaluate the impacts of CalAm's Monterey Peninsula Water Supply Project's test slant well and the full project, should it receive final approval.

The Agency has completed the RFP process for the development of a plan and selected Martin Feeney, Consulting Hydrogeologist.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
None.

FINANCING:
Advanced funds will be deposited into Agency Fund 115, Appropriation Unit WRA005, in Fiscal Year 2017-18. California American Water Company is financing the Integrated Coastal Monitoring and Reporting Plan per the Settlement Agreement.
