RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Contracts Purchasing Officer, or his designee, to execute Amendment 1 to the Agreement with DELTAWRX, LLC for project management and related services for the Monterey County Next Generation Radio System Project, retroactive to November 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018, and adding $94,283 to the agreement amount of $80,000, for a revised total amount not to exceed $174,283.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
In December 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved the contract with DELTAWRX, LLC to provide project management and associated services for the design and implementation of the Monterey County Next Generation Radio System Project (NGEN). DELTAWRX has proven to be a valuable partner in the development of functional requirements, telecommunication radio site development, and radio frequency acquisition DELTAWRX has also successfully coordinated with the prime NGEN contractor, Harris Corporation, multiple departments within the County of Monterey, participating cities, and regional first responder agencies.

The current DELTAWRX contract expired on October 31, 2017. At that time, the NGEN project lacked appropriations to extend the term of the existing contract or to increase the amount of the contract. Crucial aspects of the NGEN project required the continued attention of the DELTAWRX project management and technical staff to investigate and clarify technical issues impeding the progress of the project.
