Receive a report on Resource Management Agency (RMA) Key Capital Improvement Projects for the period July 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Capital Improvement Committee receive a report on Resource Management Agency (RMA) Capital Improvement Projects for the period July 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.

SUMMARY:
A Status Report of Capital Improvement Projects for FY 2017-18 provides a summary for 48 capital projects totaling over $372 million: 18 Road and Bridge ($147.9 million), and 30 Facilities ($224.0 million). The report includes project costs, development phase, and status. During this period, ten projects were completed. Of the remaining 38 projects in progress: 13 are under construction and 23 are in the Design/Environmental Phase.

DISCUSSION:
Key Capital Improvement Projects are projects that are managed by RMA staff and have a project cost estimate over $100,000. The following project narrative provides an update on completed projects and projects with significant activity during the reporting period of July 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.

COMPLETED PROJECTS

Elkhorn Road Slipout Repair
The project consisted of repair of a slipout on a section of Elkhorn Road caused by the 2017 winter rains. The overall project cost was $1.38 million and was completed under an emergency contract under the Job Order Contract (JOC) procurement process. The project required coordination with regulatory agencies given the sensitivity of the environments adjacent to the road. The project is eligible for FEMA Cal/OES reimbursements.

The project consisted of tenant improvements (TI) to the building to allow various County departments to move in to the north and south buildings. The project is completed and the departments, including the RMA, have move into the building
