RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign Amendment #2 to PSA1048 with First Alarm adding $33,640, effective March 31, 2018, for monitoring and maintenance of the Department's Badge Access/Security System, increasing the total contract amount to $177,185 and extending the term of the Agreement through June 30, 2019; and

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Under this Agreement, First Alarm provides Digital Monitoring Products Access System monitoring and maintenance for six buildings used by the Department of Social Services. This system includes door lock and entry monitoring, daily testing, warranties, equipment maintenance, and replacement costs.

In February of 2017 the Department requested a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the replacement, expansion, and ongoing service of a new security access and monitoring system be released through the Contracts/ Purchasing Department.
