RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve the use of the Wood Grove Area at San Lorenzo Park on May 4, 2018 for a fund-raising event held by the Chalone Peaks Middle School subject to approval of all required County permits and in compliance with Monterey County Code Section 14.12.130(A)(14); and
b. Find that leasing a picnic area at an existing County park for a one-time event is Categorically Exempt pursuant to Section 15301 of the CEQA Guidelines.

SUMMARY:
The Chalone Peaks Middle School (CPMS) has requested to reserve the Wood Grove Area at San Lorenzo Park to hold a fundraising event on May 4, 2018. The fundraising consists of the CPMS Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) selling food prepared by the school's cafeteria. This event is estimated to include 200-260 people. The rental agreement for the Wood Grove area includes vehicle entrance for 10 vehicles. Each additional vehicle entrance will be a fee of $8.00 per vehicle, which will be charged upon arrival on each vehicle. Pursuant to Monterey County Code Section 14.12.130(A)(14), all political rallies, religious services, and any fundraising activities must have prior approval from the Board of Supervisors. Portable restrooms and security guards are not required for this event.
