a. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute GE Healthcare Quotation No 37770 plus Addendum No. 1 for a software support agreement for the existing MUSE cardiology system for an amount not to exceed $185,985 with an agreement term June 1, 2018 through May 31, 2023.
b. Approve the NMC Chief Executive Officer’s recommendation to accept non-standard indemnification, insurance, and limitations on liability provisions within the agreement.
c. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for NMC or his designee to execute up to three (3) future amendments to the SSA which do not significantly alter the scope of work and do not cause an increase of more than ten percent (10%) ($18,599) of the original cost of the agreement per each amendment.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute GE Healthcare Quotation No 37770 plus Addendum No. 1 for a software support agreement for the existing MUSE cardiology system for an amount not to exceed $185,985 with an agreement term June 1, 2018 through May 31, 2023.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The MUSE Cardiology Information System is a software system that promotes rapid diagnosis via electronic Electrocardiograms (ECG’s) allowing Cardiologists to review current and historical data, read the ECG, and assist fellow clinicians in making faster decisions for patients. An electrocardiography (ECG or EKG) test is the process of recording the electrical activity of the heart over a period of time.
GE (General Electric) provides support, service and maintenance, upgrades and general support to the MUSE treadmill system.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this software support agreement as to legal form, and the Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved as to payment provisions. The software support agreement has also been reviewed and approved by NMC’s Finance Committee on May 5, 2017 and by its Board of Trustees on May 5, 2017.
FINANCING:
The cost for this software support agreement is $185,985, of which $30,998 has been included in the Fiscal Year 2017-18 Adopted Budget. Amounts for remaining years of the agreement will be included in those budgets as appropriate.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:
The software support services enhance operations at the hospital by bringing its cardiology technology current allowing seamless integration with the patient electronic health record. This ultimately improves the patient experience by allowing physicians to access a more complete data history from any location leading to more expedited diagnosis.
