Title
Receive an update on the revised Scope of Work for the Integrated Coastal Monitoring and Reporting Plan
Report
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Monterey County Water Resources Board of Directors approve a revised Scope of Work for the Integrated Coastal Monitoring and Reporting Plan.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The revised Scope of Work (SOW) is for the Professional Services Agreement with Martin Feeney, Consultant Hydrogeologist, to develop an Integrated Coastal Monitoring and Reporting Plan (MPWSP) to meet the terms of the Settlement Agreement and Mutual Release between California American Water Company (Cal-Am), the Monterey County Water Resources Agency, and the County of Monterey, execution date December 4th, 2012 (Settlement Agreement).

The original SOW was to focus on the shallow, 180-foot, 180-foot equivalent (FTE) and the 400-foot aquifers, and specified that the area of impact determined from the modeling would be the study area. Since that time, the MPWSP FEIR was released and included the additional monitoring of the Deep aquifers and the area of the North Marina Groundwater Model. The Scope is also amended to include further review of data management needs and approaches for transfer, exchange, access, and reporting; obtaining data from Cal-Am contractors and others (e.g.; MCWD, CWD); Agency review and response on interim draft materials, and additional meeting time.

These revisions change the consultant's budget from $62,300 to $88,790. The cost of the Plan is covered by CalAm as per the Settlement Agreement.
