RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors take the following actions:

a.  Receive a report from the Human Resources Department on Board Referral No. 2017-18 Commissioner Compensation.

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The Board made a referral on Commissioners compensation.  The referral requested a presentation to the Board of Supervisors with options for Commissioner compensation that supports the ability to recruit a diverse and representative pool of Commissioners.

 

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

The Human Resources Department worked with the Office of the Clerk of the Board and other County departments such as Information Technology, Resources Management Agency, Natividad Medical Center, Social Services, and Health to provide information.  The Water Resources Agency also provided information.

 

FINANCING:

The receipt of this report has no financial impact to the County General Fund.

 

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:

The recommended action addresses the Board of Supervisors’ Administration Strategic Initiative to foster innovation in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of County services.
