RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Health and Human Services Committee of the Board of Supervisors:
Receive an oral report on the Behavioral Health Bureau's implementation of the DMC-ODS Implementation Plan and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment services.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Health Department, Behavioral Health Bureau entered into an Interagency Agreement with the State Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) for DMC-ODS Waiver services effective July 1, 2018. SUD services to be provided in Monterey County include: outpatient group and individual therapy for youth and adults, enhanced residential services for adults, additional medications under Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services and prevention services for youth, parents and caretakers.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
Community Human Services, Door to Hope, Sun Street Centers and Valley Health Associates are the primary collaborative partners involved in the implementation of these SUD treatment services.

FINANCING:
Receiving this report will have no impact on the Health Department Behavioral Health Bureau's FY 2018-19 Adopted Budget nor to the General Fund.
