RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director/Acting Director of the Department of Social Services to sign annual and semi-annual California Department of Veterans Affairs certifications.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Military & Veterans Affairs Officer (MVAO) request the Board to authorize and approve the Director of Social Services to sign annual and semi-annual California Department of Veterans Affairs certifications with regard to its compliance, rules and regulations pursuant to the Military & Veterans Code, State General Funds Expenditure, Special Fund Expenditure and California Code of Regulations.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:
California Department of Veterans Affairs requires Annual and Semi- Annual Certification be signed by the Chair of the Board Supervisors or other County Official authorized by the Board to act on their behalf. The action above will save the board time by authorizing the Director of DSS to sign certifications required by the California Department of Veterans Affairs. All information being certified is visible to the Director of DSS through the MOU between DSS and MVAO.
