Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Agricultural Commissioner to execute, on behalf of the County of Monterey, a Standard Agreement with the State of California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) to perform work retroactively under the CDFA Bee Safe Program for a period from November 15, 2018, through June 30, 2019, in the amount of $20,100.90, and;
b. Authorize the Agricultural Commissioner, or Commissioner's designee, to sign up to three (3) Amendments to the Agreement where the Amendment does not significantly change the scope of work.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The State of California CDFA routinely contracts with the Monterey County Agricultural Commissioner (MCAC) to provide specific services. The MCAC will participate in apiary theft prevention, pest inspection, quarantine and abatement along with program development and data management. The agreement was originally entered without proper processing which accounts for the request being retroactive to November 15, 2018.

The Agricultural Commissioner requests authorization to enter into the proposed State Standard Agreement (Attachment 1).

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of the County Counsel-Risk Management has approved the proposed Agreement as to form and legality.
