a. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute amendment No. 1 to the agreement (A-13490) with Fitzgerald Enterprises, Inc. dba American Consultants for interim placement services, extending the agreement an additional two (2) year period (April 1, 2020 through March 31, 2022) for a revised full agreement term of April 1, 2017 through March 31, 2022 with no change to the original agreement amount.
b. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for NMC or his designee to execute up to three (3) future amendments to the agreement which do not significantly alter the scope of work and do not cause an increase of more than ten percent (10%) ($50,000) of the original cost of the agreement.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute amendment No. 1 to the agreement (A-13490) with Fitzgerald Enterprises, Inc. dba American Consultants for interim placement services, extending the agreement an additional two (2) year period (April 1, 2020 through March 31, 2022) for a revised full agreement term of April 1, 2017 through March 31, 2022 with no change to the original agreement amount.
b. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for NMC or his designee to execute up to three (3) future amendments to the agreement which do not significantly alter the scope of work and do not cause an increase of more than ten percent (10%) ($50,000) of the original cost of the agreement.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
American Consultants will assist NMC with searches for interim management positions who are most qualified to meet the healthcare needs of NMC and its patients.
American Consultants is a leader in national healthcare staffing services. American Consultants has the ability to identify and secure talent for healthcare systems and rural hospitals.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this amendment No. 1 as to legal form and risk provisions, and the Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved as to payment provisions. The amendment No. 1 has also been reviewed and approved by NMC’s Finance Committee on February 28, 2019 and by its Board of Trustees on March 1, 2019.
FINANCING:
The cost for this agreement is $500,000 of which $150,000 is included in the Fiscal Year 2018-19 Adopted Budget. Amounts for remaining years of the agreement will be included in those budgets as appropriate. There is no impact to the General Fund.
