RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Assistant County Administrative Officer, to execute a sole source one-year Event Organization Agreement with KRAVE GROUP, LLC, d/b/a MotoAmerica, to sanction and produce the MotoAmerica AMA/FIA Championship of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on July 12-14, 2019.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
KRAVE GROUP, LLC, d/b/a MotoAmerica, wishes to enter into a one-year Event Organization Agreement to sanction and produce the MotoAmerica AMA/FIA Championship of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The race will be sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and FIM North America and will be held during the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship weekend on July 12-14, 2019.
The MotoAmerica series crowned their first champions in 2015 and they return to Laguna Seca with a full series lineup that complements the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship motorcycle racing weekend. Five classes will race throughout the weekend as follows: MotoAmerica Superbike Class, MotoAmerica SuperSport Class, Stock 1000, Twins and Junior Cup.
Each race series has only one sanctioning body, therefore, KRAVE GROUP, LLC, d/b/a MotoAmerica is the only available vendor for this agreement.

The County Administrative Office prepared this report which was reviewed by the Office of the County Counsel and Auditor/Controller.
FINANCING:
The Sanction Fee for the 2019 event is $185,000. Funding for the Sanction Agreement will be included in the Laguna Seca Recreation Area Fiscal Year 2019-2020 under Appropriation Unit CAO029, Budget Unit 8441 and is fina...
