RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute Amendment No. 1 to Mental Health Services Agreement A-13855 with JDT Consultants, Inc. to increase Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-19 amount from $855,614 to $1,280,614 (an increase of $425,000) for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $2,991,842 for the term July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
JDT Consultants, Inc. provides Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) to Monterey County Medi-Cal eligible children who meet criteria for medical necessity and Home Alternatives to Residential Treatment (HART) to Monterey County children who are receiving Special Education services through their Individual Education Plan (IEP) and have been identified by their IEP teams as being at imminent risk of residential treatment. TBS is an intensive one-to-one, face-to-face, short term outpatient treatment intervention for beneficiaries under age 21 with serious emotional disturbances who are experiencing stressful transition or life crisis and may be at risk of psychiatric hospitalization. HART services provide highly individualized, intensive case management and one-to-one behavioral intervention to address the social emotional needs presenting barriers to academic success. This Amendment No. 1 increases the contract amount to provide for the estimated level of services needed to meet the program's needs.
