a. Adopt a resolution to support a Funding Agreement between the Monterey County Health Department ("Health") and the Big Sur Health Center, Inc. ("BSHC") in the amount not to exceed $10,000, to assist with the direct operational costs of providing medical services to the clients residing in Big Sur and the surrounding area during Fiscal Year 2019-20; and
b. Authorize the Director of Health or the Assistant Director of Health to execute a Funding Agreement with BSHC to provide funding in an amount not to exceed $10,000 to assist with the direct operational costs of providing medical services to the clients residing in Big Sur and the surrounding area, with an Agreement term beginning July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Adopt a resolution to support a Funding Agreement between the Monterey County Health Department ("Health") and the Big Sur Health Center, Inc. ("BSHC") in the amount not to exceed $10,000, to assist with the direct operational costs of providing medical services to the clients residing in Big Sur and the surrounding area during Fiscal Year 2019-20; and

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Big Sur Health Center, Inc. (BSHC) a California nonprofit corporation, is a rural health clinic that provides primary care to a population with access-to-care challenges. Health believes in partnering with a local primary care provider to provide case management, nutrition education, immunization clinics and other direct health services to residents of Big Sur and the surrounding area.
