Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute a Mental Health Services Agreement (MHSA) with Center for Community Advocacy for the provision of community based mental health prevention and early intervention services for unserved adults, children, and families in the amount of $145,000 for Fiscal Year (FY) 2019-20; and
b. Approve and Authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to approve up to three (3) future amendments that do not exceed (10%) ($14,500) of the original Agreement amount and do not significantly alter the scope of services.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County currently has Agreement A-13159 with Center for Community Advocacy, which will expire on June 30, 2019. Center for Community Advocacy provides recruitment and training of Promotores who are bicultural paraprofessionals. Promotores facilitate access to mental health services, increase mental health awareness, and provide advocacy for the unserved and underserved Latino population of Monterey County. Individuals identified needing higher levels of care are referred to Monterey County Behavioral Health Bureau for services.
