OVERVIEW:

During the September 25, 2019 Planning Commission workshop for the Moss Landing Community Plan (MLCP) update, the Commission directed staff to prepare a full draft of the Moss Landing Community Plan to allow for a comprehensive review of the plan. Public notice to discuss water and wastewater draft MLCP policies at the October 9, 2019 hearing was provided prior to September 25th. Since the hearing was already noticed for October 9, 2019 but is no longer necessary, staff is requesting this item be removed from the Planning Commission agenda.

In addition to the draft Moss Landing Community Plan, the Commission also directed staff to present a holistic discussion on climate change and sea level rise. Based on this direction, staff will return to the Planning Commission at a later date with an educational workshop on climate change and sea level rise. Next, staff will provide the Commission and public with a full draft plan and the 1982 (current) North County Land Use Plan, including Chapter 5, Moss Landing Community Plan. After sufficient time to allow review, staff will return with the final series of workshops to discuss the full draft MLCP update in its entirety.
