Report

RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:

Approve and authorize the Contracts / Purchasing Officer or his Designee to sign Amendment No. 4  to the contract between the County of Monterey and Everbridge, Inc. effective October 8, 2013, to increase the amount of the contract in the amount of $88,850 plus taxes as applicable, from $513,818 to $ 602,668 and to extend services through October 7, 2020, as requested by the Director of Emergency Communications.

SUMMARY/ DISCUSSION:

The Office of Emergency Services and the Department of Emergency Communications, to increase and maintain subscriptions to County and local agency emergency and non-emergency notification systems, is requesting the extension of the Everbridge contract for an additional year.  The existing services and scope of services performed pursuant to the terms of the Agreement will be upgraded at no additional cost to include form driven templates, enhanced conference call management capabilities and premium call back notifications.

 

The existing Agreement term is through October 8, 2019.  The Agreement is being modified by increasing the Agreement fiscal amount to reflect the cost of the additional year through October 7, 2020.

 

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

The amendment to the Agreement has been reviewed County Counsel as to form.

 

FINANCING:

The cost of the extension of this contract will be funded within the current budget allocation; there is no additional impact to County General Fund by way of the recommended action.

 

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:

Create a safe environment by providing a reverse notification system in the event of an emergency, allowing constituents and first responders the best opportunity to prepare accordingly.
