RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of the Information Technology Department or designee to donate two (2) surplus computers and monitors to Victory Mission, Inc.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Information Technology Department (ITD) recently received a request for a donation of two computers and two monitors for Victory Mission, Inc. This organization works to reach out to the homeless population of Salinas by providing much needed food, and clothing as well as shelter referral services. Additionally, Victory Mission, Inc. provides a Men’s Shelter and Fresh S.T.A.R.T Recovery/Re-Entry Program giving both immediate help and a pathway to change their lives. Providing the surplus computers and monitors will aid this organization in doing this crucial work in the city of Salinas.
These computers will be wiped clean by ITD staff to ensure the security of county information and will have Windows 10 installed so that Victory Mission can maximize the use of the machines.

County Counsel has reviewed this report.
FINANCING:
This request does not involve any funds.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:
This donation will assist a local organization in continuing to serve the homeless population of Salinas.
