RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Authorize the Director of the Information Technology Department (ITD) or his designee to execute amendment no. 1 with Network Cabling Solutions, Inc. to allow for an additional repair to a security door at the ITD building, retroactive to February 1, 2020, adding an additional $3,543.20 to the current agreement amount of $24,950, for a revised agreement total of $28,493.20, with no change to the agreement term.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
In September of 2019, the County of Monterey Information Technology Department (ITD) entered into a service agreement with Network Cabling Solutions, Inc. to repair external security doors and add security card access as needed at the ITD building. It was discovered during the repair of a crash bar on one of the security doors that additional electrical repairs were required. These electrical repairs were not anticipated and could not have been diagnosed prior to having the existing doors removed and inspected which is why the cost was not included in the original cost of work.

This amendment no. 1 includes the cost for the additional repairs with no change to the agreement term.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel approves the amendment no. 1 as to form.

FINANCING:
The cost of this amendment no. 1 is included in FY2019-20 Adopted Budget for the Information Technology Department, ITD 1930, Budget Unit 8439, Appropriations Unit INF002.
