RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute Amendment No. 2 to Mental Health Services Agreement A-14354 with Edgewood Center for Children and Families to add $512,933 of additional services, for a revised total Agreement amount of $1,909,892 for the same term July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2022.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Edgewood Center for Children and Families ("Edgewood") has been providing services to Monterey County children and youth who require the highest level of care to prevent their placement into an inpatient hospital or out-of-state residential or juvenile justice facility. Edgewood provides a Short-term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) for children and youth with complex and severe needs, Hospitalization Diversion to assess and stabilize the child/youth to reduce risk of rehospitalization and be able to return to lower level of care or natural environment, and Partial Hospitalization Program which is a short-term full day program specialized in diagnostic assessment and psychotropic medication evaluation and management, allowing youth to receive acute care while residing in their homes or other community placement. This Amendment No. 2 adds room and board services to the STRTP program and is retroactive to February 19, 2020 due to an emergency placement of two (2) Monterey County youth in accordance with the youths' Individual Education Plan (IEP).
