Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:

a. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute the First Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement (A-14389) with Salinas Valley Radiologist Inc. to provide radiology services at NMC, extending the term by twelve months (July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021) for a revised full agreement term of July 2019 to June 30, 2021 and adding $800,000, for a revised amount not to exceed $1,600,000 in the aggregate; and

b. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for NMC or his designee to sign up to three (3) amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($80,000) of the original contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Natividad wishes to amend the Agreement with Salinas Valley Radiologists Inc., for which board certified radiologists provide exclusive radiology services at Natividad 24/7/365. Radiology services include inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging services, mammography and interventional radiology services, according to the American College of Surgeons for Level II Trauma Centers, as well as a radiology physician to provide general direction and oversight of the Radiology Department.  Natividad has obtained an independent opinion of fair market value supporting the payment terms of this Agreement.

 

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Amendment as to legal form.  Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved this Amendment as to fiscal provisions.  The Amendment has also been reviewed and approved by Natividad’s Finance Committee and Board of Trustees on May 8, 2020.

 

FINANCING:

The amount of this Amendment is $800,000.  The total cost of this Agreement is $1,600,000 for the period July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2021 (24 months).   $800,000 is included the Fiscal Year 2010/2021 Recommended Budget. There is no impact to the General Fund.

The services rendered in this agreement provide Natividad with the additional support it needs in order to provide reliable and high quality patient care which improves the health and quality of life for patients and their families.
