b. Approve the release of the Security Bond for Faithful Performance and Laborers and Materialmen Bond No. 0190352 ($520,000 remainder) in accordance with Government Code Section 66499.7 after the specified passage of time for recording claims or liens; and
c. Accept Maintenance Bond No. 21BSBIJ9666, in the amount of $104,000, for the accepted sidewalk infrastructure improvements.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Accept as complete East Garrison Subdivision Phase 2 Infrastructure Improvements;
b. Approve the release of the Security Bond for Faithful Performance and Laborers and Materialmen Bond No. 0190352 ($520,000 remainder) in accordance with Government Code Section 66499.7 after the specified passage of time for recording claims or liens; and
c. Accept Maintenance Bond No. 21BSBIJ9666, in the amount of $104,000, for the accepted sidewalk infrastructure improvements.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The recommended action will allow the County to accept as complete the East Garrison Phase 2 Project (Project) infrastructure improvements and approve the release of the remaining balance of two bonds associated with construction and the acceptance of a Maintenance Security Bond for the accepted sidewalk infrastructure improvements. Attachment A provides a location map for the Project.
On March 1, 2016, the Monterey County Board of Supervisors accepted a completed portion of the Project's Infrastructure Improvements, including road, drainage, and infrastructure improvements with the exception of the concrete sidewalks fronting the residential lots, which would be constructed when the houses on those lots were completed. The bonds (Attachments B and C) were reduced from $5,569,000 to $520,000.
