a. Approve and authorize the Director of Information Technology Department or his designee to execute a standard Agreement with IPKeys Power Partners, Inc., for design, integration, implementation and optimization services for the County enterprise network, radio and microwave systems, with an agreement term of October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2023, and a total not to exceed of $225,000; and
b. Authorize the Director of Information Technology Department or his designee to execute up to two (2) future amendments to the agreement that do not significantly alter the scope of work and do not cause an increase of more than ten percent (10%) ($22,500) of the original cost of the agreement per each amendment.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of Information Technology Department or his designee to execute a standard Agreement with IPKeys Power Partners, Inc., for design, integration, implementation and optimization services for the County enterprise network, radio and microwave systems, with an agreement term of October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2023, and a total not to exceed of $225,000; and
b. Authorize the Director of Information Technology Department or his designee to execute up to two (2) future amendments to the agreement that do not significantly alter the scope of work and do not cause an increase of more than ten percent (10%) ($22,500) of the original cost of the agreement per each amendment.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
In support of various ongoing and future networking projects, the IPKeys agreement will provide critical technical and engineering level design, integration, and optimization services to Monterey County Infrastructure personnel. The IPKeys engineering team will provide network implementation assistance, test plan design, network configuration, and field installation services. They will also ensure cross-platform technology is integrated and functional supporting public safety and microwave radio infrastructure.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approves this agreement as to legal form.
FINANCING:
This requested expense has been included in the 2020-21 Adopted Budget for the Information Technology Department 1930, Budget Unit 8436, Appropriation unit INF002. Transactions relating to future fiscal years will be included in each respective Recommended Budget.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:
The IPKeys agreement will support the design, implementation and testing of critical networking infrastructure throughout Monterey County. The agreement will also ensure continued operation of current and future public safety communications supporting first responders.
