RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:

a. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute amendment No. 1 to the agreement (A-14304) with the American Heart Association, Inc. for program participation and stroke center accreditation, providing funding in the amount of $48,005 for an additional five (5) year period (May 14, 2020 through May 13, 2025), for a revised full agreement term of May 14, 2019 through May 13, 2025, and a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $52,485.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Utilizing the American Heart Association 'Get with the Guidelines' (GWTG) website enables Natividad to benchmark successful care of stroke patients and follow evidence-based guidelines to improve patient outcomes. The GWTG website provides a universal platform for gathering, measuring, and extrapolating data and care performances at Natividad. GWTG promotes consistent adherence to the latest scientific treatment guidelines that achieve measurable patient outcomes and care process improvements.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

The Office of County Counsel has reviewed and approved this agreement as to form. The Auditor-Controller has reviewed the payment provisions. The agreement has been reviewed and approved by NMC's Finance Committee and its Board of Trustees on November 13, 2020.
