Authorize the Chief Executive Officer for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute amendment No. 6 to the agreement (A-12637) with Intelligent Medical Objects, Inc. for electronic mapping and standard nomenclature software licenses, support and maintenance services, with no change to the agreement term of January 28, 2014 through April 30, 2022, and adding $98,997 for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $527,357.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Chief Executive Officer for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute amendment No. 6 to the agreement (A-12637) with Intelligent Medical Objects, Inc. for electronic mapping and standard nomenclature software software licenses, support and maintenance services, with no change to the agreement term of January 28, 2014 through April 30, 2022, and adding $98,997 for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $527,357.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Intelligent Medical Object's (IMO)'s Clinical Interface Terminology is a software suite of vocabulary products that provide electronic mapping and standard nomenclature to help NMC manage the complexities of searching and obtaining the myriad of codes from most code standards. Using standard nomenclature is necessary to effectively build reports and was implemented in 2014 to meet the requirements of Meaningful Use, as dictated by Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Health Information and Technology for Economic Health (HITECH) Act. Using electronic mapping and standard nomenclature is also critical for revenue recoupment with the required implementation of International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-10).
