RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute Amendment No. 1 to Mental Health Services Agreement A-15247 with The Village Project, Inc. for the provision of Prevention and Early Intervention Outreach and Engagement services retroactive to July 1, 2021 in the amount of $200,000 for FY 2021-2022 and $200,000 for FY 2022-2023, for a new total Agreement amount not to exceed $740,000 for a term of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County currently has Agreement A-15247 with The Village Project, Inc. In Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-21, the Monterey County Health Department, Behavioral Health Bureau conducted Request for Proposal (RFP) #10787 for Mental Health Services Act, Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) Services which are aimed at preventing mental illnesses from becoming severe and disabling. PEI services focus on preventing the onset of mental health issues and/or providing early intervention treatment and referral services. The Village Project is one of several community agencies that were awarded funding for PEI services through RFP.
