SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The hospital’s pharmacy inventory management system is capable of generating replenishment orders for medication. This agreement will allow the hospital’s pharmacy inventory management software to interface with the hospital’s medication wholesaler’s ordering system. This system will allow for medication wholesaler replenishment orders to be sent directly from the pharmacy inventory management system. This will eliminate potential errors from hand entry of recommended order amounts. In addition the exact items sent and their quantities sent will be transmitted from the medication wholesaler to the pharmacy’s inventory management system. This agreement allows even greater control of the pharmacy’s medication inventory to increase the availability of medications when needed.

It is the policy of AmerisourceBergen to sign last.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

The Office of County Counsel has reviewed and approved this agreement as to form, and the Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved as to payment provisions. The agreement has also been reviewed and approved by NMC’s Finance Committee and by its Board of Trustees on July 15, 2022.

FINANCING:

This is a no cost agreement.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:

The Data Services Agreement will enable more control over the hospital pharmacy’s medication inventory and more accuracy in ordering. Better inventory and ordering processes increase availability of medications to patients.
