RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors receive a report on the Governor’s FY 2023-24 Proposed Budget.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Governor Newsom released his proposed FY 2023-24 budget on January 10, 2023. The County Administrative Office has reviewed the Governor’s Budget Summary, the Legislative Analyst’s Office (LAO) Overview of the Governor’s Budget, and the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Budget Action Bulletin for statewide perspectives. In addition, departments provided preliminary impact statements. This information has been compiled into a consolidated overview attached for your review. Also attached is a copy of the CSAC budget bulletin.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
This report incorporates preliminary budget impact statements provided by County departments and information provided by CSAC and LAO. The Budget Committee received this report at their January 25, 2023, meeting.
FINANCING:
Acceptance of this report has no fiscal impact.
