RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:

a.  Authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to sign Renewal and Amendment No. 1 to an Agreement between the County of Monterey and Arts Council for Monterey County, for the provision of services to present a broad representation of quality artwork from the local arts community to the public and to encourage a greater diversity of local youth, seniors, and other artists, extending the contract term by four (4) years to January 31, 2027, adding $10,000 to the Agreement for a total contract amount of $14,800; and

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The County executed an agreement with Arts Council for Monterey County for services to present a broad representation of quality artwork from the local arts community to the public and to encourage a greater diversity of local youth, seniors, and other artists.

The Agreement expired January 31, 2023, due to the delay of Arts Council for Monterey County providing the County-required insurance documents in support of an extension of the Agreement via amendment. As a result, a renewal and amendment is now required to be sought and approved.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

The Offices of the County Counsel and Auditor-Controller have reviewed and approved this Renewal and Amendment No. 1 as to form and fiscal provisions, respectively.

FINANCING:

Appropriations for this Renewal and Amendment No. 1 are included in the Health Department’s (HEA014-8438) FY 2022-23 Adopted Budget and provision for it will be made in the Department’s Requested Budget for the years out as needed.
