RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or Contracts/Purchasing Supervisor to execute Amendment #4 with GEO Reentry Services, LLC, A-13600/A-14944 a wholly owned subsidiary of The GEO Group. Inc., to provide reentry services to incarcerated adult offenders, effective July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, increasing the not to exceed maximum by $297,000 to a total of $2,088,000.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Sheriff's Office is recommending the approval of amendment #4 to a multi-year agreement with GEO Reentry Services, LLC to provide reentry services for adult offenders under Monterey County Sheriff's Office supervision. Reentry Services for the Monterey County Sheriff's Office were solicited via a County Request for Proposal process (RFP #10582) overseen by the Contracts/Purchasing Department. The purpose of this short-term multidisciplinary "reentry" program is to provide adult offenders incarcerated at the Monterey County Jail with a structured reentry program prior to their release from incarceration. The program is intended to operate daily, Monday - Friday, and includes orientation, assessment, individualized service plans, substance abuse education/ programming, cognitive and life skills development, parenting skills, family reintegration, and money management.
