RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute Amendment No. 3 to Mental Health Services Agreement A-15264 with Community Human Services for the provision of Prevention and Early Intervention Outreach and Engagement Services, increasing the amount by $87,037 for FY 2022-23, effective June 30, 2023, for a new total Agreement amount not to exceed $5,893,213.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
As part of the County of Monterey Health Department, Behavioral Health Bureau's ACCESS and Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) outreach, engagement and mental health programs the County currently has Agreement A-15264 with Community Human Services (CHS) to meet goals and objectives outlined in the County's MHSA Plan.

Amendment No. 3 will increase funding for CHS for FY 2022-23 to continue providing much needed outpatient mental health services to Monterey County residents. CHS will continue to provide MHSA services such as, Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP) which is a primary prevention, family-centered, trauma-informed curriculum designed to build nurturing parenting skills as an alternative to abusive and neglecting child-rearing practices. CHS offers "Community-Based Nurturing Parenting Education" (10 topics - Primary Prevention) and "Nurturing Skills for Families" (24 topics - Secondary Prevention).
