RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Adopt resolutions authorizing the District Attorney of the County of Monterey, on behalf of the County, to submit proposals to the California Department of Insurance, the California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES), the California Office of Traffic Safety and the US Department of Justice, and to execute on behalf of the County the Grant Award Agreements including any extension or amendments thereof.

SUMMARY:
The Monterey County District Attorney's Office relies on a variety of Federal and State grants to provide a portion of the financial support required by the Department for the services it provides in the County.

Funding for these programs is expected to continue in FY 2024-25. The Federal and State agencies responsible for these grants require the recipient departments to submit periodic applications to renew funding for the upcoming fiscal year even though there is an established relationship between the County and the funding agency. This is the seventeenth year in which this overall approval practice is being utilized to streamline the grant application and acceptance process. The specific grants and administering State agencies for which this authorization is being requested is through the California Department of Insurance, with Grants for:
