RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Board of Directors:
Approve Amendment No. 1 to the agreement with ICF Jones & Stokes, Inc. for the Salinas River Lagoon Community Engagement and Planning Project for a total contract amount not to exceed $115,000; and authorize the General Manager to execute the amended Agreement.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On July 29, 2022 the Monterey County Water Resources Agency (Agency) entered into a grant agreement with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) to fund the Salinas River Lagoon Community Engagement and Planning Project (Project). The Project was designed to evaluate existing conditions in the Lagoon and engage stakeholders to develop projects concepts or management strategies that reduce flood risk and improve resiliency around the Lagoon.
The total estimated project cost was $200,330. The total cost included $100,000 in reimbursable NFWF grant funding to hire primary consultant ICF Jones & Stokes, and $100,330 in Agency matching funds to be provided through hiring of a biological consultant and Agency staff time to support the Project.

The baseline data collection and the stakeholder engagement process have been completed and the primary consultant ICF Jones & Stokes is working on the final analysis and report. As the project progressed, additional effort was needed for completion of the project concept designs and stakeholder outreach.
