a. Approve and authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign a Renewal and Amendment #3 to Agreement #5010-1932 with the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) for Medi-Cal Privacy and Security, retroactive to March 1, 2024, extending the term by six (6) months, for a new term of September 1, 2019 through September 1, 2024;
b. Authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) future amendments to this amended agreement where the amendments do not significantly change the responsibilities of the parties.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign a Renewal and Amendment #3 to Agreement #5010-1932 with the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) for Medi-Cal Privacy and Security, retroactive to March 1, 2024, extending the term by six (6) months, for a new term of September 1, 2019 through September 1, 2024;
b. Authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) future amendments to this amended agreement where the amendments do not significantly change the responsibilities of the parties.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Department of Social Services (DSS) administers the California Food Assistance Program (CalFresh), California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs), California's Medicaid program (Medi-Cal), and General Assistance safety net programs. DSS requires access to data hosted by the Social Security Administration (SSA), the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), and the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to determine eligibility and continue to administer these programs. DSS currently has a no-cost agreement with DHCS to access the required eligibility data.
