RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Monterey County Laguna Seca Representative to execute a retro-active Amendment No. 2 to the non-Standard Agreement between Sunbelt Rentals Inc. and the County of Monterey for heavy equipment rentals at WeatherTech(r) Raceway at Laguna Seca which increases the not to exceed amount by $76,000 from $375,000 to an amended total not to exceed amount of $451,000.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Sunbelt Rentals Inc. (Sunbelt) provides heavy equipment rental services for the County of Monterey (County), its vendors, marketing partners and affiliates at WeatherTech(r) Raceway at Laguna Seca (WRLS). The use of Sunbelt's service is vital to the overall success of events held at WRLS.
Sunbelt and the County entered into a non-Standard Agreement on May 2, 2023 (Agreement) for Sunbelt to provide heavy equipment rental services to the County, its vendors, marketing partners and affiliates at WeatherTech (r) Raceway at Laguna Seca (WRLS) (Attachment A). Amendment No. 1 was executed on December 5, 2023 to increase the not to exceed amount to $375,000 (Attachment B). Due to heavier usage than expected during the 2023 season, it has become necessary to further retro-actively increase the not to exceed sum by an additional $76,000 for an amended not to exceed total of $451,000.
