a. Approve and authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with the Regents of the University of California, Davis for the provision of staff training in the amount of for $513,825 for the period of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026 including non-standard mutual indemnity terms; and
b. Authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) future amendments to this agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($51,382) of the amended contract amount, do not significantly change the scope of work, and do not exceed the maximum aggregate amount of $565,207.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with the Regents of the University of California, Davis for the provision of staff training in the amount of for $513,825 for the period of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026 including non-standard mutual indemnity terms; and

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Under this Agreement, the University of California, Davis (UCD) will provide onsite and virtual training to nearly 700 Department of Social Services employees. These employees are those that determine eligibility for CalWORKs, CalFresh, and Medi-Cal, and those who work in the CalWORKs Employment and the Aging and Adult Services branches to empower and protect the most vulnerable residents in our community.
