SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County of Monterey Ergonomics Process is vital to the prevention and management of work injuries at the County. The Ergonomics Process was fully implemented in 2009 and has provided over 3500 preventative ergonomic evaluations to date, reducing the risk of injury and illness of County employees. It is estimated that over the last ten years, at least 700 workers' compensation cases have been prevented through the County's pro-active, preventive process saving the County millions in future workers' compensation costs.

The original agreement for Ergonomics Services with Ergovera, in an amount not to exceed $100,000, began September 1, 2017 and was set to expire on August 31, 2018. Amendment No. 1 to the original agreement extended the time for one year from September 1, 2018 through and including August 31, 2019, and increased the agreement by $80,000.00 for a total amount not to exceed $180,000.00.

Amendment No. 2 to the original agreement extended the time for an additional six (6) months, to March 31, 2020, with no increase in value.

Amendment No3 to the original agreement extended the time for an additional nine (9) months to December 31, 2020 and increased by $40,000 to $220,000.00
