RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute Amendment No. 1 to Mental Health Services Agreement A-15264 with Community Human Services for the provision of Prevention and Early Intervention Outreach and Engagement and Innovation services retroactive to July 1, 2021 adding $965,000 for FY 2021-2022 and $915,000 for FY 2022-2023, for a new total Agreement amount not to exceed $3,239,514 for a term of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County currently has Agreement A-15264 with Community Human Services (CHS). In Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-21, the Monterey County Health Department, Behavioral Health Bureau conducted Request for Proposal (RFP) #10787 for Mental Health Services Act, Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) Services which are aimed at preventing mental illnesses from becoming severe and disabling. PEI services focus on preventing the onset of mental health issues and/or providing early intervention treatment and referral services. CHS is one of several community agencies that were awarded funding for PEI services through this RFP. In addition, CHS was awarded funding through the Mental Health Services Micro-Innovation Mini grant.
