Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of Health to execute an Agreement with the Transportation Agency of Monterey County for the Via Salinas Valley: Pathways to Health through Active Transportation project for a total of $140,000 for the period August 1, 2015 through December 31, 2016; and
b. Authorize the Director of Health to sign up to three (3) future amendments that do not exceed 10% of the original Agreement amount, and which do not significantly alter the scope of the work.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Health Department (MCHD), the Salinas Valley cities of Salinas, Gonzales, Soledad, Greenfield and King and the Transportation Agency of Monterey County (TAMC) were successful applicants to the Active Transportation Program Cycle I funds to construct physical improvements for improving walkability and ride ability in the Salinas Valley Cities and portions of the unincorporated area of the County. This agreement outlines the work to be conducted to achieve the grant's scope.

In order to receive the funds for and implement the projects, TAMC will enter into this agreement as the implementing agency responsible and accountable for the use and expenditure of program funds as well as overseeing the construction of the entire project.
