Approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or Contracts/Purchasing Supervisor to execute an Agreement with the City of Gonzales ("City") in the amount of $19,175.00, with a retroactive start date of July 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016 for the development of materials (e.g., informational briefs, checklists, templates) for inclusion of a Health Element into the City's General Plan which will be used by the Monterey County Health Department (MCHD) for developing Health Elements for use in the general plans of other public entities.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or Contracts/Purchasing Supervisor to execute an Agreement with the City of Gonzales ("City") in the amount of $19,175.00, with a retroactive start date of July 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016 for the development of materials (e.g., informational briefs, checklists, templates) for inclusion of a Health Element into the City's General Plan which will be used by the Monterey County Health Department (MCHD) for developing Health Elements for use in the general plans of other public entities.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Health Department recommends the approval of an Agreement for $19,175.00 with the City of Gonzales which is going to be developing materials (e.g., informational briefs, checklists, templates) for the inclusion of a Health Element into their General Plan. Materials provided to MCHD will then be shared with other local communities for the intention of modeling the approach and having Monterey County and other cities consider the development and incorporation of Health Elements into their General Plans.
