Title: a. Approve and authorize the Chair to sign and issue to the Pacific Gas and Electric Company a Temporary Permit to Enter and Use Property on County-owned properties at the former Fort Ord, specifically APN 031-161-032 (East Garrison II - Locations "E" and "F") and APN 031-101-056 (Landfill Border - Location "G"); and b. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Chair to sign and issue to the Pacific Gas and Electric Company a Temporary Permit to Enter and Use Property on County-owned properties at the former Fort Ord, specifically APN 031-161-032 (East Garrison II - Locations "E" and "F") and APN 031-101-056 (Landfill Border - Location "G"); and
b. Authorize the Director of the Resources Management Agency to approve amendments to this Temporary Permit to Enter, and any future permits to Pacific Gas and Electric for entry to the subject properties.

SUMMARY:
In 1997 the US Army granted PG&E an easement for its large regional gas and electric transmission lines across the breadth of Ft Ord. Some of the properties where these lines are located are now owned by the County. As part of an on-going state-wide safety program, PG&E wishes to enter the easement at three locations on County-owned property to perform hydrostatic testing on its existing 10" and 4" gas transmission mains this summer. PG&E has asked that the County issue a Temporary Permit to Enter and Use Property to document that the County concurs with the terms and conditions of its doing this testing.

DISCUSSION:
The County of Monterey became owner of APN 031-161-032 (East Garrison II Parcel L23.3.3.1) by a Quitclaim Deed from the Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency of the County of Monterey approved and accepted by the Board ...
