a. Approve and Authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or Contracts/Purchasing Supervisor to execute Amendment No. 4 to Board Agreement No. A-12460 with the County of Alameda to provide housing/bed space for county inmates in the Santa Rita Jail to extend this agreement until June 30, 2018 at a cost of $125.00 per inmate per day (estimated cost of $182,500 for Fiscal Year 2017-18); and
b. Authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or Contracts Purchasing Supervisor to approve up to three (3) future amendments to this agreement where the amendments to the agreement do not increase the daily rate of the agreement and do not significantly alter the scope of work.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve and Authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or Contracts/Purchasing Supervisor to execute Amendment #4 to Board Agreement #A-12460 with the County of Alameda to provide housing/bed space for county inmates in the Santa Rita Jail to extend this agreement until June 30, 2018 at a cost of $125.00 per inmate per day (estimated cost of $182,500 for Fiscal Year 2017-18); and
2. Authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or Contracts Purchasing Supervisor to approve up to three (3) future amendments to this agreement where the amendments to the agreement do not increase the daily rate of the agreement and do not exceed annual AB109 funded amounts.

Your Board originally approved Agreement A-12460 with the County of Alameda for housing of inmates at the Santa Rita Jail. At that time, the Monterey County Jail was at approximately 130% of its rated capacity of 824 inmates.
