RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Chief Probation Officer to sign Amendment No. 2 to Agreement No. A-13275 with Turning Point of Central California, Incorporated in the amount of $321,683, for a total contract amount of $965,049, to continue to provide employment training and job placement services for adult offenders under AB 109 Public Safety Realignment plan for the term from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019; and
b. Authorize the Chief Probation Officer to sign up to three (3) future amendments to the Agreement where the amendment does not exceed ten percent (10%) of the original contract amount ($32,168), and does not significantly change the scope of work.

SUMMARY:
The Probation Department is recommending the extension for fiscal year 2018-19 and the added allocation of AB 109 funds to the service provider for continuation of services.

DISCUSSION:
AB 109 Public Safety Realignment allocates funding to counties for mandates related to adult offenders that have been realigned from the State to local jurisdictions. The Probation Department serves as lead agency and fiscal agent for the implementation of the AB 109 Public Safety Realignment plan, which allocates funding to Turning Point for employment training and job placement support.
