RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer, or Designee, to sign Amendment Number 10 to the non-standard Maintenance Service Supplement Agreement between the County of Monterey and Zetron, Inc. for maintenance of the ACOM radio console system, to extend the term by one additional year, retroactive to July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019, and to add $54,358 for the period of July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.
SUMMARY:
Monterey County, through its Emergency Communications Department (ECD), contracted with Zetron, Inc. on November 22, 2006 to provide maintenance of ECD's ACOM radio console system used for public safety radio dispatch operations. Most County and local agencies to which the County provides dispatch services have transitioned to the Next Generation Radio System (NGEN), which uses a Harris Corporation Symphony radio console. One agency still relies on the Zetron Inc. ACOM console, however. As a result, the agreement with Zetron, Inc. for ACOM console maintenance needs to be extended until the remaining agency transitions to the NGEN Radio System.
DISCUSSION:
Zetron Inc.'s ACOM console system was scheduled to be decommissioned with the installation of the NGEN/Harris Radio System and the transition to the new system by all agencies to which the County provides dispatch services.
